How do I delete my messages?

You can permanently delete messages individually or all at once from a chat. Deleted messages are removed from your device, the server, and all devices of everyone in the chat.

There are 2 ways to delete your messages: individually or per-chat. You can enable the option to delete your messages with gesture actions and configure message actions in Settings > Message actions.

Delete individual messages

You may choose to permanently delete a single message you sent by using a gesture action on the specific message.

You can also long press on a message to delete the message.

Delete all of your messages from a chat

You may choose to permanently delete all of the messages you sent within a chat at once.

• Go to Settings > Leave or Delete screen
• Open the 'Delete all my messages from a chat' dropdown and select the chat
• Press the Delete button
• Confirm you want to delete all of the messages you sent within this chat with the popup
